Tell me more about the trial?
The best way to achieve perfect wedding hair and makeup is through good communication between client and stylist. A trial appointment is a great chance to discuss your ideas, talk over any concerns you may have and for your stylist to gain a clear vision of your personal style so she can create your perfect look. You'll also know what to expect so will feel more at ease on your wedding morning. Please allow 3 hours for a hair & make-up trial / 1.5-2 hours for hair only / makeup only. Trials can be paid for on the day or beforehand by bacs. Trials for bridesmaids or mother of the bride are optional but not essential please ask us for prices.
When should I have my trial?
3-4 months before your wedding is perfect. Let us know when you are ready to make your appintment and we'll give you access to our online appointment calendar so that you can choose your preferred date, once you've selected your appointment you'll shortly receive a confirmation email straight to your inbox.
Where is the trial held?
Trials are mainly held on weekday afternoons in our garden studio in Haywards Heath (RH16) or can be arranged at your location if preferred (travel costs apply). Please note weekends trial appointments are limited especially during peak wedding season (May - October). Daytime trials in natural daylight are recommended especially for make-up however we do have a make-up daylight lamp at the studio if you did prefer to book an evening trial.
How do I prepare for my appointment?
Collect pictures of the hair & make-up images you like beforehand, these do not have to be the final look but will help to create your style. You can email these before your appointment. Pinterest is a great way to find images. If you have no idea don't worry we can make suitable suggestions for you. It's helpful to have a picture of your dress and any hair accessories if you have them. Don't panic if you have yet to buy this can be discussed at the trial & we have some you can try out including veils, hair pieces & some clip in extensions.
We believe everyone’s hair is different, if you tend to wash it daily then its ok to wash on the day however if your hair doesn’t require washing daily then we suggest you wash it the night before. It is ok to wash on the day but do be aware curls may not last as long and the style may not hold as long in general. Conditioner is ok if applied to the ends but do avoid the roots. We also recommend coming to your appointment make-up free.
What happens if I change my mind after my trial?
If after your trial appointment you decide you would like to try out a different look or style a retrial can be arranged, please contact us for re-trial prices.
What will I expect on the day of my wedding?
its important to us that you enjoy your wedding morning and feel relaxed on the days leading up to it so will be in touch beforehand with a plan of timings so you know everything will run smoothly. On the day your stylist will arrive in plenty of time, bringing along her full kit, your trial notes and photos so your chosen look can be recreated perfectly. You may also contact your stylist between the trial and wedding day if you have any concerns. If you have a large bridal party requiring hair & make-up we can arrange for another member of our team to assist. You stylist will stay with you until you are in your dress and off to say your I do's.
